So much tech, so little clarity: Hospitality Sector Council’s ‘tech stack audit’ reveals those providers leading from the front. 

Technology has enormous potential to transform hospitality, driving efficiency, reducing costs and ultimately improving profitability across the sector. Yet despite the explosion of solutions available to operators, there remains a striking lack of trustworthy, impartial guidance on which technologies actually deliver results.

The consequence is predictable: many hospitality businesses either delay adoption altogether, paralysed by choice, or invest in systems that fail to fit their operations, wasting precious time, money and team energy.

The Hospitality Sector Council (HSC) asked us, 125 Data & Insights, to facilitate an industry-wide survey to tackles this problem head-on by unlocking one of the most powerful sources of insight available: peer experience

The survey received 746 responses across casual dining, pubs, bars and QSR, to identify technology usage and ratings. The survey aimed to address knowledge gaps by providing insights into available solutions and operator feedback. By surfacing real operator recommendations and reviews, the industry can begin to answer the question every hospitality leader asks when evaluating new tools: “what works for a business like mine?”.

The results from the survey have been published on HSC’s website here, but as impartial partners of the survey we’re over the moon to see that operators rate us so well and are looking forward to supporting the HRC get more responses and insights in 6 months’ time when they roll out phase 2 of the audit.
